Enrollment Dates That Matter

Here is the quick calendar I use in so you avoid penalties and gaps with Medicare.

Initial Enrollment Period (IEP)

Seven months around your 65th birthday month. Three before, your month, three after. Enroll in Parts A and B through Social Security. Pair it with prescription drug plans or medigap plans if you want Original Medicare with flexibility.


Annual Enrollment Period (AEP

Oct 15 to Dec 7.


Review your coverage for the next year. Switch Part D plans or move between Medicare Advantage and Original Medicare. New coverage starts Jan 1.


Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment
